Notes and Comments for Week beginning June 21st

This coming Sunday – June 21st is the 2nd Sunday after Trinity.

We offer a “Live” stream Mass from Church on Facebook page Sunday at 9:30am. Live Music for Sunday at 11:00am!

The Gospel set for Sunday Trinity 2.
This is no easy read! Jesus knew that this message, when preached and lived by his disciples, would not always be welcomed. The disciples would frequently be ridiculed and rejected, as he had been. Discipleship would indeed be costly because it would require humility and sacrifice. Therefore, Jesus warned them to be convinced about their message and to be confident that God was with them in every situation. He assured them: ‘If anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven’ (Mt 10:32). Jesus says the same to us. The apostles were not living in easier times than ours. Yet they willingly suffered for the faith, never making excuses to dilute it or compromise its principles. Neither should we, believing that God loves and supports us in every crisis. Faith dispels fear.

We hope that our Annual Parish Meeting can take place in Church on Sunday September 13th after Mass. To vote at the APM you need to be on the Electoral Roll.

The church’s Electoral Roll is the register of its voting
members; it is a list of those qualified to attend and to
vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting.
Electoral rolls provide an indication of the real
membership and strength of the church.
Who can be on the electoral Roll?

Baptised adults (over 16 years) who live in the
parish, or who have worshipped regularly at
Holy Trinity for at least six months and are committed
to being part of the life of the local Church of England
congregation.

Why Join?
Enrolment is a way of saying….“I belong”.
For us it is an act of commitment to Holy Trinity Church
and the church as a whole. It opens the way for
a greater involvement in the life of the church at
parish, deanery, diocesan and national levels.

At Holy Trinity we believe God wants us:
 to worship Him above all others
 to be members of His family
 to grow in our faith
 to be ministers of His grace and use our
gifts and talents for the benefit of others
 to be messengers of His love

PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION FORM AT PARISH WEB SITE AND RETURN IT TO FR PAUL AT THE RECTORY VIA POST OR EMAIL. THANK YOU.

Church is now Open for Private Prayer. Please feel welcome and at home to use our sacred space for prayer and reflection. Our supervised opening hours are from 9:30AM – 10:30AM Tuesday – Friday. 3:30PM – 5:00PM Tuesday – Friday. Saturday 4:00PM – 5:00pm.

The Question of Church Finance – As your parish priest, I would very much like to extend my sincere thanks again to all those people in our congregation who week by week continue to give their weekly/monthly offering to the Church. As you may be aware, I have firmly resisted talking about money and giving, as I am acutely aware that many people are still struggling just to survive financially from week to week. We now know that we will inevitably face an acute financial shortfall in our ability to pay our bills after all this has passed, yet I believe that we should concentrate on the urgent pastoral matters still very much before us, and worry about money later down the road. I have always maintained that if we get our commitment to God in its proper perspective, the giving looks after itself.
