Holiday cover and News at Holy Trinity Church

This coming Sunday – August 16th and the following Sunday August 23rd we welcome Fr Michael Morris as celebrant and preacher at our Mass. Please note that Fr Michael is also celebrating Mass on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm.
Fr Paul is taking two Sundays off duty, the first Sunday off duty since his Installation as Rector back in October 2019. There will be no public Morning or Evening Prayer until September 1st.
If you require a priest in an emergency, then please contact the Churchwardens in the first instance. Clive Baker on 862707 or Mary Somers-James on 584044 and they will contact a priest.
If you can, please try to be with us in Church on Sunday August 30th. At our 9:30am Parish Mass on this day we shall recall the Laying of the Foundation Stone of our Parish Church on the 29th August 1844. This is a wonderful opportunity to rejoice and give thanks for 175 years of our Church and its Christian witness to this community. If the sunny weather continues, we shall end the Mass outside on the grass, with some special music and Blessing. After Mass all are welcome to a Parish Picnic on the Rectory lawn from 12:30pm onwards.
Social distancing will be observed, and due to current regulations, you will need to bring your own food. A folding chair or picnic blanket might be helpful! (Weather permitting) The Church will provide wine and soft drinks.
Ride and Stride – 12th September 2020. We are looking for volunteers to open our Church on this Saturday from 10:00am until 5:00pm or to take your bicycle and ride the Churches of Thanet and beyond to raise urgently needed money to save our historic Kent Churches, including our own building. See Fr Paul or Wardens. Sign up sheet in vestibule. Please support Paula as she cycles her way around the Churches of Thanet.
ORGAN APPEAL We need £19,000 +VAT to cover all major works. The VAT we can reclaim as we are a Grade 2 Listed building. What has taken our breath away is that since our launch we already have already been given well over £15,000 to date, which with Tax reclaim is equivalent to £18,250!
Our aim is to sell an organ stop at £150 each, so that you can purchase the stop that suits you! A 2ft flute or a big booming 8ft Trumpet. See the large board with full details in Church or ask a Churchwarden for details. Thank you for all your generosity to our Church and the growing of the Kingdom of God in this place.
The Sacrament of Confirmation – September 20th. There will be a special Mass with Confirmation on Sunday September 20th at 4:00pm. This liturgy will replace the normal 9:30am Mass that day. We welcome our very own Bishop Norman Banks as the Confirming Bishop. Please pray for Rebecca, Lynette and Dave who are to be Confirmed.
