New and Events at HTR from October 17th

We welcome you to our Parish Mass at 9:00AM Sunday October 17th
Fr Paul is our celebrant and preacher. Sunday School will operate in the Hall. Please join us for Coffee after Mass in the Hall.
At 3:00PM today we welcome Adam Robson into the life of the Church by Holy Baptism. Please pray for baby Adam and his family on this special day.
Tonight you are invited to join our sister Church St Andrew’s in Deal for a Solemn Evensong and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 6:00PM for Harvest.
The Gospel set for today very much reminds me of the game I played as a child, Snakes and Ladders. In Mark 10:35–45, Jesus and His disciples have one of the most memorable dialogues in the New Testament. In these eleven verses, Jesus emphasizes the importance of humility and service. He insists that self-giving service is the only greatness recognized by God, and only those who give of themselves for others will be the big winners with God.
In so many words, Jesus insists that we must: Climb down the ladder to greatness. In other words, instead of ambitiously seeking to climb the ladder and attain greatness, we must sacrificially serve others. Jesus reveals that He is the King of an upside-down kingdom. His rules go against the grain of what our world says.
CHURCH HEATING Our Church boiler was recently serviced, and passed with flying colours, but the chimney flue is not so healthy, and this means the erection of scaffold to sort out. Sadly, this means we are unable to use the boiler until the flue is repaired. So please wear warm clothing for Mass!
Confirmation Mass November 23rd at 7:00PM. Bishop Norman will be administering the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Andrew’s in Deal for the two parishes. All are welcome. Please pray for Ron and Harry to be Confirmed.
Every Friday morning in Church from 10:30AM we serve free Coffee and Tea. Just pop in for a chat or company. Everyone is very welcome. You are also invited to join us for the Celtic Mass at 12 Noon with music.
THE HYGIENE BANK – will you help us support this worthwhile cause. We ask you to donate toiletries or feminine hygiene products. There is a large container in the hall for your donations.
The Food Bank – following on from our very generous Harvest response, we are now having a regular container in Church every week for you to make Food Bank donations which will go direct to our local Food Bank in Ramsgate.
October 31st will be observed as All Saints Sunday with Parish Mass at 11:00AM.
All Souls Day Sung Requiem Mass at 7:00PM. There will be sign-up sheets available in Church for you to include any names of the departed you would like read aloud at the Mass.
Please Note: Fr Paul will be off duty from Monday October 18th until 26th.
Attention all Children and Parents! There will be a Light Party at Church on October 31st at 4pm.
An increasing number of Churches are staging “light parties” at which games, fancy dress and party food are used to deliver an upbeat alternative to Halloween’s horror-soaked narrative, and a reminder of the fundamental Christian message that there is always light to be found in the darkness. Will you join us?
We still have places for our Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham in May 2022. May 16th – 19th full board. Will you join us. The experience will change you in a deeply spiritual way. We share fun, worship, devotion, and fellowship in equal measure. Cost is approximately £250
