An invitation to you!
This is a personal invitation from our new Rector and parish priest for you to join us on Christmas Eve for the Solemn Mass of Christmas Midnight. 2019. Our liturgy begins at 11:30pm.
As Rector and parish priest I warmly invite you to come and be part of our worship on this seemingly magical and mysterious holy night, when heaven and earth almost collide. In this Solemn Mass of Christmas Midnight, we confront the stark reality of the creator God who dares to take human flesh and live among us.
Please come and make the effort to enter the mystery offered here on Christmas Eve and let all your five senses be touched by the entire liturgy as it unfolds in music, scripture and ritual. The mystery of Christmas is just that, a total mystery, and the words of our human vocabulary often seem woefully inadequate to express the mysterious presence we encounter.
I look forward to welcoming, and sharing in the celebration of the Saviour’s birth.
Fr Paul Blanch.
“When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with their flocks, the work of Christmas begins: to find the lost,
to heal the broken,
to feed the hungry,
to release the prisoner,
to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among the people, to make music in the heart.”
